Forum Marketing – Using Forums for Marketing Online
By Raymond Nesa
Forums are good marketing tools because they are free and offer a personal pathway to the desired market. This is very tempting and new marketers often over-post, known as spamming, and get themselves permanently banned. If you do not have something relevant to post then wait until you do. Though forums can be used for advertising what must be remembered is that they are not meant for that purpose. Blatantly promotional posts will only earn you a negative image that is self defeating in the long run. A similar problem occurs when marketers post in forums that do not fall in their niche. There are countless forums on the internet so try and avoid posting in those that have no relevance.
Since the purpose of forums is to have discussions they are preferred by search engines when indexing content. This means that when you post in the relevant forum with a link to your website you are actually creating a backlink that will receive a high rank when posted on a popular forum. This is among the leading ways of getting quality and targeted traffic for your website. For new websites it is important to get backlinks in order to increase web visibility and forums are one way to achieve that. When you post, relevantly, on different forums and they all link back to your website then it increases your credibility and gets you website a higher page rank.
So search for some good forums and start participating while keeping in mind all the rules about how to a good forum member
