Adsense Alternatives

I remember when Adsense first hit the scene, it was the biggest thing since the Internet itself. Once people started getting the hang of creating Adsense optimized sites, incomes were going through the roof. It wasn't uncommon for somebody with just a few sites to make a hundred dollars a day with Adsense. Sadly, those days are long behind us. With the sweeping changes at Google and lower bids for content sites, Adsense income has taken a big hit. So, what then are the alternatives to Adsense since the gravy train has long left the station?

Well for starters, there are other Adsense "like" sites. One of these alternatives is PPCProfitMachine. This site actually is two tools in one. The first one allows you to add a pay per click search box to your site, which gets results from a number of pay per click services. It also creates search engine friendly content for your site. Plus, it allows you to display a number of ads, like gambling, that Adsense does not allow you to display because it is against Google's terms of service.

Another alternative to Adsense would be AffiliateSensor. This is a service that is almost as easy to use as Adsense. The text links are based on Clickbank products, which are very popular in a number of niches, especially Internet marketing and health related niches. AffiliateSensor is not as well known as other alternatives, but it is slowly climbing its way up in popularity.

Of course you can always head on over to other search engines such as Yahoo, Miva, MSN and so on, that have their own versions of Adsense. The problem with many of the search engines, especially ones like Miva, is that they don't get anywhere near the traffic that Google Adsense provides. So as bad as Adsense revenue may be, it's not going to be much better with many of the alternatives.

The truth is, the very best alternative to Adsense, or any of the alternatives I've mentioned so far, is to completely get away from the "get paid per click" two-bit mentality. If you think about this whole system very carefully, you will realize that you are literally throwing thousands of dollars out the window by not doing one simple thing. It will take a little bit of web design skill, but in the long run, it will be more than worth it.

Instead of wasting space on your web page with Adsense links and their equivalent, why not put up links, designed in the same style, that point to affiliate products that you sell for the target ads on that page? Okay, I know what you're thinking. With affiliate links, you're only making money if the person buys. That may be true. But how much are you making with each click? A few pennies? Why give your traffic away for a few pennies when you have the chance to make some real money, provided your ads are targeted properly?

Like I said, it takes some web design skill to make those ads look like Adsense ads, but in the long run, you'll find that you'll make a lot more money than with Adsense ads and other like services.
