Selling on eBay for the first time can be a little confusing. Try these tips and your first experience might be better for it.

First you need to signup to sell on eBay. The process is fast and easy to understand. You will need a way to pay for your listing fees. If you have a credit card this is the easiest method. After you signup you might want to read the seller tutorial but don’t dwell on it. The truth is it is easier to learn to sell on eBay by just listing your first item.

Now you need to decide what to sell on eBay. I started off selling baseball cards. You need to find something around the house that you don’t want anymore but that someone else will find valuable. Don’t try to sell something that looks bad and that no one will want. You want to sell your first item and get positive feedback so don’t try to push junk onto someone else.

Once you decide what you want to sell then just start the listing process. Don’t worry if your listing doesn’t have much flair. You just want to be honest about the description of the product and include one picture. It doesn’t cost anything extra to add a picture. Make sure you start the auction at a low price and do not put a reserve price on the auction. Remember this is an exercise to learn how to list a product that you don’t want, so it shouldn’t matter to you if you don’t make a fortune.

After you list the product then hopefully if you price it correct you will sell it. If you do then make sure you communicate with the buyer soon after the auction ends. You want to make sure you receive positive feedback every time you sell on eBay.

Okay now what? You sold your first item and now you have the bug. You will need to find more product if you want to make more money. Hint: Most power sellers on eBay sell other peoples stuff. That’s right. They use drop ship companies to supply them with products. Drop shippers offer many products for sale and lower your risk since you don’t have to buy an item until after you sell it.
