Money-Saving Email Marketing Advice

This article assesses the usefulness of email marketing. It provides some valuable, money saving advice for implementing an email marketing strategy.
Although it is a well-worn marketing model, list building is still, and always will be, a worthwhile strategy. Note however that many people are now turned off by having to surrender their email address in order to acquire something that may or may not prove to be useful to them. In future this method of marketing is going to become less effective. There is much to be said for providing prospects with a direct download link to a useful product so that they don't need to give their email address since there is always a significant percentage of people who will refuse to engage if they are required to give their email. If prospects are happy with what the've downloaded then they may then be more inclined to provide their email address to access a subsequent download.
To implement your list building strategy you need software known as an autoresponder. There are many options out there, some of them requiring a monthly subscription. In my opinion it's a good idea to keep recurring payments to an absolute minimum for your business. This is because you have endless ongoing expenses without actually gaining ownership of the product. There are good autoresponders available for a one off fee that are very reasonably priced and will save you a lot of money in the long run. Make sure that if you do purchase one of these that it is well supported. For example, there is an autoresponder called Multimedia Autoresponder version 2 that is being sold with resell rights for as little as $5. If you buy this you will get no product support and product support is something you would definitely need.
Of course, setting up your own autoresponder requires some effort on your part and it also requires a suitable host. Make sure that you have a host that supports Cron jobs. Cron jobs are instructions that you give to your host's server to execute programs of your choosing on a regular basis. You will need to set up at least one Cron job in order to implement your autoresponder. As an Internet marketer its advisable anyway to have a host that allows you to easily set up as many Cron jobs as you want and that also supports PHP includes.
