The Best Ways to Sell to Your List
You have your list, but you need to get the most out of it. Many people have lists, but they just don't know how to utilize them. If they do, they could be making so much more from it and they don't have a clue how to.
It was more than likely quite a bit of time and effort that you have put into building your list, so you better make sure to get the most out of it, that you can get. You want that extra vacation, the ability to put your kids through college or buy that home that you've always wanted?
There are a lot of different techniques and strategies out there. It isn't always finding that hidden technique or strategy it's about perfecting the one's that you know about or are implementing already.
Building a Relationship
This is the most important step that you need to take in order to get the most out of your list. In order to buy from you, a customer has to trust you. They want to know that you value them as a customer and as a person and that you don't just see a dollar sign next to their name. They want to know that you are genuinely trying to help them and trying to give them knowledge.
You do this by not only selling great products that will really help the customer, but also by giving them great information that you only give to your list. Make them feel like they are way more important to you then the rest of the people, who aren't on your list.
Give them products that you've sold in the past. There may be some great information there that a lot of people can use on your list. Just make sure that it isn't outdated and is relevant information going forward.
Whether you give them free e-courses, reports or simply just informative emails. Make sure that you're benefiting the reader and that your intentions are good and genuine.
Marketing Products
There are several different ways to market products to your list. You can sell them a product that you have created, you can sell them a product that you have resell rights on, you can do a joint venture with someone who has a product that fits your list or you could pick out a product that fits your list and affiliate it.
Let's start with my personal favorite, selling your own product to your list. I love this because it does so many things for the people on your list and yourself. It helps yourself because you get a rewarding feeling for one.
It also helps because you get to keep all of the profits, you don't have to split it, like in a joint venture or if you're affiliating a product. Another reason why it's great is that, hopefully the product is not being sold elsewhere at the time.
That means that it is exclusive to your list, at the beginning, anyways. It also tells them that you aren't just going to capture their email address and then just affiliate or joint venture another person's product.
I also like to give my list a discount. This not only increases sales, but it also give your list a sense of being important to you, which they are. Tell them that you aren't selling it elsewhere yet and that when you do sell it elsewhere, if you decide to do that, that you will sell it for a higher price to everyone else.
This also sends a message to your list that you're willing to work for them and give them a discount. This is very important. They know that they aren't just on your list to make you money, they realize that you do really care about them and that you will give them the V.I.P. treatment.
This also gives you an audience of people who are willing to help you make the product and sales page better. You can ask them to give you pointers on how to improve your product or sales page, if you have them.
You can ask them if they would pay the price that you intend on raising the price to. You can also get testimonials to put on your sales page, from people who really like your product.
Having the resell rights to a product. Now, this varies upon the rights that you have, if you have PLR rights and are able to edit it and take credit for it then you can do some different things. I'm just going to talk about having the resell rights, whether you bought them or were just given them.
The good thing about buying resell rights is that there might not be that many people who have this. The key is to search for a great product and then attain these rights, when the product hasn't saturated the market.
You can make a lot of money doing this and you don't have to put in the time it takes to create your own product. You can also set your own price. You can discount it for your list. This is a nice way of letting them buy a product at a discounted price.
The problem with this is that you don't show your list that you're working real hard for them, because you are selling someone else's product. There also might be too many copies of this product out there.
A solution to this is to find a product that isn't out there being promoted by too many other people. Find a product that you believe is really going to help your list.
Doing a joint venture with someone who has a product is another way. If you're able to find someone who has a great product that your list will really like, then it can be a great thing. Just make sure that they don't have this huge army of affiliates and that the product hasn't been around forever.
This can be a powerful way of helping your list and making some major profits at the same time. Hopefully, you catch a great product before it has really made mainstream success. You can really catch lighting in a bottle doing this technique.
You must be careful. Again, you're promoting someone else's product and that might send warning signals up for them. It's not your product, so they might think that you just see them as a meal ticket and don't really care about them.
You better make sure that it's a great product and it's a product that they will really like. You will loose their favor, if it isn't a product of that nature. You better answer all of the questions and tell them why you decided to suggest someone else‘s product. It's best to just be honest.
Another way to sell to your list is to affiliate a product. This is my least favorite way of selling to my list. It just sends a bad message to your list. It tells them that you are looking to make money off them by selling another person's product, who you might not even know.
People have their trust in you and not in that other person that has created the product. Another problem with this is that you don't make the full amount of money that you can when you have your own product or resell rights.
You also have to go through the trouble of finding a great product that you can affiliate. A person can always go to clickbank, but then you have to buy the product and try it out and make sure that it's a great product.
The only real good way to do it is if it's a product that has really helped you in the past and know that it will help your list. Then affiliating a product isn't a bad option.
Conclusion
In conclusion I would say that I would rank the best ways to sell to your list as follows. The fourth best way to sell to your list is to affiliate another person's product. The third best way to sell to your list is to do a joint venture with someone who has a product. The second best way to sell to your list is to buy or acquire resell rights to a product. The number one best way to sell to your list is to create your own product to sell to them.
Just remember to provide quality products that benefit your list. One bad product can really hurt or ruin your list, so make sure that you have at least read and love the product that you're selling to your list. The list is your bread and butter and you must remember to treat them as such, make them feel exclusive and important.
Sincerely,
-Gabor
