It is a portable gaming system, PSP - PlayStation Portable which is highlighted by a wide-screen display with PS2 graphics quality, built-in Wi-Fi, the ability to play music and videos, store images and a Web browser. The device itself measures 6.7 inches wide by 2.9 inches high and by 0.9 inches deep. It weighs 6.2 ounces, including the removable battery. In the center is a 4.3 inch wide-screen display with 480 x 272 pixels, that is 16.77 million colors. At the sides of the screen are the directional keypads and an analog joystick which isn't raised much but it gives the feel of a conventional joystick. To access the other features of the PSP, you use the directional keypad to navigate the horizontal "cross media bar." Games and movies come on a Universal Media Disk, UMD which load into the back of the device just as you would a camcorder. The top edge also has an infrared and a USB 2.0 port so you can link the device to your PC or MAC. At the bottom left of the PSP is the headphone jack. Movies and Videos on the PSP: You cane download or save your MP4 and other video formats on the Memory Stick Duo and play them wherever or whenever you want. Full-length movies can be played from prerecorded UMD. Web browsing on the PSP: The PSP web browser supports most web technologies and supports full HTTP cookies and forms. There are 3 different display formats, "Normal", "Just-Fit" and "Smart-Fit." Photos on the PSP: You can carry your digital favorites with you wherever you go and view your photos in an automatic slide show. Music on the PSP: You can listen to full-length concerts from prerecorded UMB or play your favorite music with the Memory Stick DUO in a variety of formats. Games on the PSP: The PSP is totally portable so you can play anywhere with the wireless connectivity, Games can be saved, shared and downloaded. There are over 130 games available all designed for portable play. The Sony PSP is a really cool device which offers you something from gaming to web browsing.
