How To Get A Six Pack - Trimming Your Abs
Let me start off by saying EVERYONE has a six pack, everyone. Even a 300lb fat person has a six pack. What I mean is everyone has abdominal muscles; the difference with a fat person is that these are not visible due to excess fat around the abs.
For this very reason, doing 1000's of crunches/sit-ups every day will do nothing to show your abs, simply because there is a layer of fat covering it.
To get that much-desired six pack you must cut out junk foods and decrease your daily calorie intake. Also do 30 minutes of cardio 3-4 days per week to aid in burning more calories. In turn this will make you lose weight and as a result your abs will start to show. No amount of crunches/sit-ups will achieve this.
However, I do recommend you add abdominal exercises into your regime because this will help develop your abdominal muscles (again, it won't do anything to lose fat there) and you will look much better.
There is also no need to go to extremes. 1000's of repetitions a day will actually hinder your progress because too many repetitions will cause muscle loss and that's the last thing you need when trying to develop a toned six pack. 3-5 sets of 10 reps three times a week will do.
So just a quick recap:
- 1000s of crunches/sit-ups a day are NOT going to work - they will hinder your progress.
- Reduced caloric intake IS necessary.
- Cardio for 30 minutes 3-4 times a week is desirable.
- Training the abdominal muscles sensibly is necessary (i.e. don't do 1000's of reps daily).
Give it time and keep at it and you'll get the six pack you're after. It won't happen overnight and that's a fact.
