Affiliate Marketing Leads

Affiliate marketing leads are the result of a successful affiliate marketing campaign.

Using these leads helps an affiliate target a specific group of buyers and build a successful online business.

The only reason for becoming an affiliate marketer is to sell products by promoting products and generating leads.

Simply asking a someone to visit your website do not appear to be working anymore. They want to know “What’s in it for me?” An affiliate must give the person a real reason to click on the affiliate’s site.

There are a number of ways to use to generate affiliate marketing leads. Here they are – - -

Opt-in Email Lists

What is Opt-in Email?

It is receiving permission to capture an email address to send information to the owner of the email.

How?

There are a few different ways to do this but by far the most popular way is by adding an opt in area on your site.?

Simply it is placing a box on the site landing page or home page offering the visitor something free. A free e-book or a free internet marketing course are good to offer the visitor in exchange for their name and email address. In the box, create a place for their name and a place for their email address. Below these two lines have a “click here” button that is linked to your autoresponder to capture their information and build your list.

Once they click on, they will be taken to to your website where they will be asked to verify that they are interested in your free what ever it is. By doing so, they are saying it is alright for you to capture my email address. This is called a double opt-in. Use this double opt-in method and you will not be accused of spam.

An important point, never spam this list. Only send information you believe is truly valuable to your lists or you may loss subscribers as quickly as you get them. Spam can also get you kicked off the merchant’s affiliate program.

The autoresponder is usually managed by reputable companies such as Aweber or GetResponse. They are most likely the two most popular and are similar in every way when it comes to functions of list building.

What’s written in the preceeding Opt-in Email paragraph is a way to capture leads.

Here are ways to gather Affiliate Marketing Leads.

Article Marketing

Write 500 word individual articles about specific keywords that are the theme of your website. If your site is about multi-level marketing, create articles of interest about all aspects of multi-level marketing. At the bottom of but not part of the article, add your 3 or 4 line bio and include your website url. Never put the url in the article body. Article publishers will reject your article if you do. The url should direct visitors to the autoresponder to capture the email address.

Ezine Advertising

Advertising in an ezine is the most effective method of reaching the target market an affiliate needs to drive targeted traffic to their website. Of course the ezine has to be ab out the theme of the affiliate website. You wouldn’t place a dog training ad in a affiliate marketing ezine. Find an ezine with around 20,000 subscribers. Place a 4 or 5 line classified ad in the ezine. To gain respect from the ezine publisher, pay for the ad. Be professional. You are building an image of yourself. Repeat the ad for several months. An affiliate has to gain the trust of people before they will do business with the affiliate.

Classified Ads

Free classified ads are usually a waste of time. Paid classifieds work better if they are written with a benefit for the customer or they are also a waste of time. As I said before, the most effective palce to use classified is in ezines and paid for. The free ads are always at the end of the ezine. people read the ezine because the topic of the ezine is of interest to them. To get their attention, the ad must appear near the top…readers seldom read thru the entire ezine looking for free ads.

RSS Feeds

Another way that over a period of time, will gather affiliate marketing leads for an affiliates site and that is though having an RSS Feed prominently listed on website at the top of the navigation sidebar or placed into the header section of the site. People are given the opportunity to subscribe to your site feed and every time a new post is written, the person will automatically receive notification via email just as if they were on your email lists.

Using Banner Advertisements

Displaying advertisements on frequently visited web pages, using attractive wording and pictures of the product you wish to sell or promote, grabbing the attention of the potential buyer, way to generate affiliate marketing leads. This type of advertising is similar to classified ads. The purpose of the banner ad is to drive traffic to the affiliates opt-in page to capture the lead.

Create A Blog

Blogs are easy to set up. On the blog page post an article or advertisement about the product you are selling. The url used can send the customer to the actual merchant site for a sale. This is generally used when the affiliate wants quick cash and not hear from the customer again. OR, post the url that drives the customer to the opt-in site and capture a customer for life. Note: Treat this subscriber well, this is money in the bank.

Search Engines

Affiliate marketing leads are generated by using search engine optimization, commonly known as “SEO”. Actively promoting the affiliate website for high placement in the search engines is essential. Always go the the search engine, Google, AOL, Yahoo, etc. and register the affiliate website name and url.

This helps the search engines find the site quicker. The more ranking the website receives on a search engine, the more chance the affiliate has of generating traffic to their website.?

The objective here is to bring traffic to the website to create sales on the website and generate more prospective leads. An affiliate marketer needs knowledge and understanding about keywords. Remember, stay focused on what the customer’s whats and needs are, then simply place the appropriate keywords into your website content.
