Moving that desk? The sofa? If you can get someone to lift up the legs (assuming you need help) these teflon pads are a miracle. Slide them under the legs of the table or sofa and push across a rug like a sledge in the fine snow. Wheee!!!! And they prevent scratching the floor …as long as you wipe the floor first to keep grit from under the pads.

I’d say these are a must-have in any home, and I’d recommend them as a housewarming gift. Get two sets and you will make a memorable impression for anyone as a practical, thoughtful person. And get a set for yourself. These are terrific.

The Moving Men TV commercials are a bit over-hyped, but the sliders do work very well. One must realize that all they do is reduce friction, making it easier to move large items. They do not make items less heavy and it will take some effort to insert them under heavy items. Even with Moving Men installed it will take more effort to move heavier items than lighter ones, but at least they do make it possible to move those heavy items.I recommend the Moving Men and I intend to purchase additional sets.

I used the product to move a heavy cabinet. They made it easy to move the cabinet, however, it made fine scratches on my hardwood floor.

These are not ideal for wood floors. I recommend the type that look like muppets – they are much easier to get under the furniture and glide better.

After moving three pieces of furniture, these sliders look four years old – scratched, dirty and indented from the weight. The white lip is curved up slightly, which makes it hard to slip under, and harder for me to do solo – and I’m no weakling.

I think there are better examples of this product, especially the furry ones that I got at Home Depot for our house in NJ.

A couple of years back, I bought this from an As-Seen-On-TV store for $20. Recently I paid $10 for another set for a friend. At $10, I thought it was a steal. At $3.59 on Amazon…!

A word of Caution – this works ONLY on carpet. On wooden or other hard floors, it gets scratched easily. If they had stated this clearly in the description, I would have given it 5 Stars. The idea of attaching felt strips by another reviewer is smart way, but not something that my set came with.

BTW, if used properly, it works amazing when used on Carpet to move anything, including heavy furniture. When needed I move my 200lb TV while on its stand all by myself. Sofa, table etc are a breeze.

  6. my dog uses is. i bought it for her and she loves it…

  9. Nope, I got this big tower for my cats and it had all sorts of cool things in it, but they rarely use it.

  10. I didn’t buy it but my moms boyfriend built my 2 kittens a cat tower that is over 6 ft tall. They absolutely love it. They scratch, play and nap on it all the time.
They also do use our furniture when they sleep with us at night or cuddle up with us on the couch when we are watching tv

  13. We bought my cat a little den thing. It’s outlined with carpet and has a little hole. He never uses it. I actually use it as a foot rest though.

  14. my dad gave me a cat condo for my cats.. one of those round carpet covered things with 3 holes for them to go into… well, they are too fat to go into the holes, but they do scratch on it and lay on top of it.

but they still use the furniture, just not as much.

  17. Heck no, she still uses my furniture!!!!
What a waste of money buying her the scratching pole and bedding, lol

She also took over half my bed, I guess the bedding I bought her isn’t as good as my bed….

  18. No she doesn’t she would rather lay around on the bar or table then play or lay in any of her furniture

  19. My kitten used her scratching post/house for about a month and then never touched it again. She still scratches on the couch occasionally.

  20. No she sure doesn’t! I bought her a bed a scratching post. She would rather sleep on the computer chair and sharpen her claws on the back of the living room furniture.

  21. I bought my cat a bed but he doesn’t use it. You can buy things at a pet store for cats to climb into that make a “crinkling” noise. I just use a paper bag from the grocery store. A lot of those things for cats are a waste of money. I was flipping though a cat magazine and I saw a cat stroller!?!?! Why would anyone want to push their cat around in a stroller?

  23. urm my dog has a bed and it uses it aswell as the sofa when shes being cheeky lol but we dont have any furniture for the cats lol so they always have their own little spot on the sofa, you sometimes have to move them to get space or perch on the edge of the sofa because they spread out so much! lol

  24. we have a cat tree that has 3 shelves and goes floor to celing and they love climbing that and playing on that we also have 6 scratch posts one of them has a tunnel and they love to play on that and will always use the scratch posts for their scratching. also we have 2 cat beds they will usually just use the one and will usually only sleep in it when we are in the living room…..every night they sleep on me and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

  26. Yes all of my cats use the cat furniture.
    I have:
a tunnel they can crawl through
4 cat beds of different sizes
    a climbing tree
2 3 story ‘hotel’ they sleep in
100+ toy balls, mice, strings etc

My cats are spoiled they have their own room

Most of the time they are in the same room I am in. But when they want to be on their own I can normally find them in their room curled up somewhere

They are a LITTLE bit spoiled

    gardenladyAugust 23, 2010 @ 11:01 pm
  27. Yes, they use both, their large cat tree is due to be replaced soon as they have scratched it completely bare *LOL* we have gone through a few of them. They have carpeted “logs” but are too big to fit into the hidey holes too much so they roll them around or sit on top of them. They have 2 large wing back chairs on the sun porch that they have scratched up but they also sleep in them on sunny days. They have a large baker’s rack out there that they sit on and jump on. They also have their own kitchen table to eat off of, it has a formica top so it is easy to clean and dissinfect. Sure they use my furniture too, one of their favorite places to sleep is in on my son’s nice warm water bed.

  28. nope she won’t use any of the stuff i buy. i got her a nice cat bed with matress and a climbing tree thing, etc. she insists on sleeping in our bed which i enjoy better anyways. if we pull out our sofa couch which is a queen bed she will sleep on it instead of with us. she is spoiled rotten and seems to like the simple things in life. i buy toys but she loves hair ties more then anything and she even has her own chair and blanket in our living room.

    ASHLEIGH PAugust 23, 2010 @ 11:57 pm
  29. I didn’t buy any – I knew better.

But what I did do is when we replaced our front window, we replaced it with an extended box (sort of like a bay window) so that they have a ledge to sit on. They use that a lot.

I also got a crappy old bench to put in front of our dining room windows. I painted it to match the room and upholstered it with lots of foam and a plasticy material and they use that frequently too.

Other than that, it’s all human couch and bed for them.

  30. I didn’t really ‘buy’ any furniture for my cat, but I paid for several items that arrived at my door C.O.D. I suspect my cat has been using my computer at night to order various items off ebay. He now has a three story cat condo, including a sleeping tube and yarn ball on a string, in addition to a plush carpeted scratching post. When questioned about how these items were ordered, my cat just shrugs and asked me to open another can of tuna .. which also arrived C.O.D by the case.

  31. My mom (my kitten’s grandma, hehe) bought him a faux fur bed for Christmas. He loves it, he even spends time “grooming” the faux fur. But I’m pretty sure he splits his 18 hours of nap time between my bed and his own.

  32. mine does, he loves it! He sleeps in it and uses it to play and scratch his nails on the scratching post.
