Lego blocks (or Megablocks). I don’t know if you can get those there, but they’re great.

Also, give him play-doh (plastecine clay) to make stuff. Painting and coloring is also very instructive.

My daughter is only three but is fascinated with tools and screwdrivers especially. This is made for a slightly older child but it has worked out really well as family time together as my husband or I have to sit down with her and help her figure out how the shapes fit together and what goes where… and to make sure the pieces didn’t go rolling off of the table. The little booklet of ideas is awesome and inspires her to keep pulling out the toy to build something new. Some of the examples in the booklet are a little misleading, we had a little trouble figuring out the sequence of pieces as it only shows a finished structure, not how to get there and then occasionally the pieces didn’t quite fit so we improvised, which is a great learning tool though I don’t think it was meant that way. My daughter does all of the screwing with each tool by herself so it has been great for her motor skills and also her problem solving as to what piece should get put on next and following a pattern. My only suggestion to the company is to make the holes in the flat pieces all standardized, so that it provides the greatest flexibility on where to place a bolt or screw, we’ve found that many times we can’t quite create what we want because we don’t have a hole to use. But overall this is a fantastic learning toy!

I bought this to help my son who suffered a severe TBI. It helps perfectly with his fine motor skills. but my other sons and grandkids love to build with it as well! very sturdy construction. Recommended to me by occupational therapist and worth the money!

My brother use to have this when he was a child, now I got this set for my four years old son and he loves it. It is so creative and perfect for his age and durable. Every Boy should have this set four and up.

    Must have. Fun.

This is an excellent toy. Initially I was concerned about its sturdiness but it has held up quite well. I would recommend it for both girls and boys.

I bought this toy for my preschool class. The kids all like it very much. It seems a little flimsy but so far has held up much better than I expected. The kids are fascinated with the tools and they all crowd around for a turn. I will have to get another. It is great for fine motor development.
