According to the sizing chart here my size would be a Medium (M); which I did order but it turned out to be way too small for me. The helmet wasn’t just tight – it would not even slip on fully!
As such, I was not able to test it in any practical way but the quality and finish seemed to be a decent value for the price (about $30 shipped).
Based on this I recommend ordering one size larger than what the chart recommends or going to a local store to buy instead, which is what I will end up doing.

I received this beautiful 1/2 helmet in a matter of days (free shipping, to boot)! It is an excellent looking & fitting helmet. Exactly what I wanted & needed, at a price that won’t be beat anywhere on the internet.. Well made & constructed, even came with an embroidered cover/bag, to protect it. I am thoroughly pleased with this product, & would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, quality, 1/2 helmet.

Very good quality helmet but seemed to make my head triple in size when I put it on. Wish there was a way to try this on before I bought it. I would recommend going to a bike shop and trying one on before buying it online.

I needed a new half helmet, saw the VCAN and liked the style/price and ordered it. It arrived when they stated and it was all that I wanted. Showed it last night to members of my club and several stated they were ordering there’s today.
Thanks
Bob

I wanted an inexpensive half helmet for taking the Harley riders course for low up front cost and a little cooler for the class. This did the job exactly as intended and I think this will be fine for short trips. For longer trips and highway runs, I’d get a 3/4 or full helmet. This helmet was comfortable and looks fine for a basic glossy black look. No parts were loose, torn or damaged in anyway. You can wear sun glasses easily with this VCAN. There are other half helmets that cover the ears against wind and have removable liners for cooler weather that I would buy instead for regular use. But for short summer jaunts this does the job just fine.
“Why do airplanes leave trails in the sky”
Why do suicide Piolts wear helmets… it’s like a living oxymoron!
THEY R BOTH FUNNY, BUT THE SUICIDE PILOT ONE IS MORE POPULSR. IT IS AN OXYMORON!
Or how about “Why would anybody want to jump out of a perfectly good plane?”
AS FAR AS POPULAR I WOULD THINK THAT THE QUESTION, “WHY DO KAMAKAZI PILOTS WEAR HELMETS?” WOULD BE BETTER ANSWERED BY SOMEONE FROM THE IMPERIAL AIR FORCE IN JAPAN.
IT DOES POSE AN INTERESTING SUBJECT TO PONDER, BUT AS A PILOT MYSELF I BELEIVE THE REASON THEY WORE HELMETS WAS TO BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE AND THE EARPHONES WERE IN THE HELMETS. AS TO WHY AIRPLANES LEAVE A TRAIL IN THE SKY, THAT IS CONDENSATION FROM THE DE-ICING SYSTEM THAT IS TO KEEP ICE FROM BUILDING UP ON THE WINGS AT HIGH ALTITUDES. THE TEMPERATURE AT 40,000 FEET IS OFTEN AS LOW AS 40 BELOW ZERO. GENERALLY IT IS MILITARY AIRCRAFT THAT ARE LEAVING THE CONTRAILS AS CIVILIAN AIRCRAFT ARE AT A LOWER ALTITUDE SO AS NOT TO INTERFERE WITH MILITARY OPERATIONS.
probably “why do suicide (kamikaze) pilots wear helmets?”
but seriously, how hard is it to search for that (or other really frequent) questions? its easier to search and find it than to ask it and wait
Answered the first one a while back. The second one is: It was part of their uniform attire and dishonorable to fly without. Most Kamakazis wore white martial arts type bandanas over them. ‘Helmets’ back then were just lightly padded leather head covers, some mounted with microphones and ear speakers. They couldn’t turn back. Not enough fuel. No ‘surrender’ either. The Admirals said “If we shoot at them and hit one to bring it down, that’s good. But if they fly into the masses of bullet trails and go down, well that’s just fine, too.” Only about 1 in 15 or 20 ever hit a ship, but when they did, it was hell.
MM, you got it all wrong. The most popular question is “Why do pilots say “Roger”? “How do planes fly?” is a contender too.
You left out: “Why do pilots say Roger?”
Honestly, can’t Yahoo have an FAQ section and keep some of the really popular questions or responses there?
rtuckinc, typing in all capital letters is an Internet no-no. ALL CAPS MEANS YOU ARE “YELLING”.
Frankly, I like the, “Black Boxes are indestructible . . .” question, and see it about as often as the ‘kamikaze helmet’.
Good site! I really love how it is easy on my eyes and the data are well written. I am wondering how I might be notified whenever a new post has been made. I’ve subscribed to your RSS which must do the trick! Have a great day!
