Question by homer simpson: For a Plasma or LCD TV wall mount, does it attach to the studs?
I plan on buying a 50-60″ TV and want to wall mount it once my basement is remodeled. Do I need to add anything extra behind the wall or do the mounts attach to any wall studs without a problems?

It should be no problem finding the studs…but IF you Really want to Beef it up, add a 2 x 4 or 2 between the joists that you plan on mounting it to….that gives you the versatility of CENTERING it Within your space !
Can’t do that with just the joists…you can try 3/4″ plywood too.

I am using this mount for a 27″ LCD in my bedroom. Using a swivel mount with tilt works great for almost any room layout. The black powder-coat paint matches the TV, and looks great. Adjustment and locking is easy with the included hex wrench. I would rate this “5 stars” if the mounting screws were better. Made from relatively soft steel, the screw head strips very easily. After ruining one screw, I replaced it with a large black deck screw. It might be advisable to drill small pilot holes before attempting to drive the screws.
Word of caution: If you do not drive the proper mounting screws into the center of a wall stud, if you exceed the specified TV weight limit, or if you try to get by with a really cheap swing arm mount, you may be signing a death sentence for your $500 TV (and perhaps yourself)!

I won a new flatscreen tv at my work, and recently built a sunroom add-on to my house and knew that I had to get this tv mounted. When I purchased the tv mount, it shipped rather quick and was hassel free to intall. I like it because it doesn’t take up much space on the wall (you can’t see it even behind a 20″ tv) and you can extend it out from wall for viewing from different seats in the room. It is definitely something to have in small spaces! It’s ayight…

Great for the price, however, the screws it came with sucked, you’ll have to go out and buy better ones. Works great!

This is an exceptional tv wall mount. It is very easy to install. It comes with a variety of screws to match the back of the television. The mounting screws are improved and very adequate. It took longer to decide where to place it than it did to actually install the mount and television. The center of the two arms separate, making it very easy to hang and attach the television. It is a great value and a quality product. Please be sure the hole pattern options match the tv set.

Great product period. Comes with multiple sets of screws to mount your flat screen LCD depending on the screw hole depth in monitor. No teardrop mounts however but you don’t need’em…most screens are lite enough to hold and attach by yourself. I did it easily. Anyway, it’s still hang’in on the wall. An allen wrench is provided to tighten the tilt of the screen after its up. I’m getting another one or two for my computer monitors to attach to the wall at my desk. Be sure to mount to a stud in the wall or equivalent and level first before attaching to the wall.
