Where To Find Bluetooth Accessories

Article by Andy Immotna

Are you aware that there are literally hundreds of various Bluetooth accessories for you to choose from? Bluetooth technology is widely known and if you happen to be one who doesn’t know yet then here is a taste on the various Bluetooth phone accessories out there, so that you can have a clear view of what is available to you.

Bluetooth Accessories

There are many wonderful Bluetooth accessories that you can choose from. However out of all these there are a few in particular which are really handy and which will be discussed in more detail here.

One of the best Bluetooth accessories of all is the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000. This is a good quality mouse that has no wires or cables to have to worry about, and is very comfortable and easy to use.

Not only that but this is one of the Bluetooth accessories that is very appealing to the eye which is nice, especially if you have your computer space out in the open where guests can see it. The main buttons and scroll wheel appear to work flawlessly and the bottom of the mouse hosts a tiny on/off switch for the Bluetooth device.

The Jabra BT800 Bluetooth Headset is another of the top rated Bluetooth accessories. The physical aspects of this mouse are great, as it is very lightweight and comfortable. There are separate buttons for answering and ending a call, and a combination menu/mute button. The two main buttons and the volume control have a really nice feel, and the supplied USB cable allows you to charge your headset direct from your PC.

Using the BT800 is very easy, even if you have no experience with headsets. Navigating through the menu is a snap, as all you do is press the center mute/menu button to access the menu and then use the volume control to move up and down the lists and options.

You should bear in mind that there are a couple of unlike Bluetooth accessories that are Bluetooth enabled. That’s why it would be wise to spare a little time to research on the offers out there for you to know the Bluetooth accessories that best suit you. A lot of stores have the choice of letting you try out an accessory first before buying it. In this way you can determine if that accessory is good for you and your necessities.

I’m very satisfied with my order and I like these headphones a lot.

I ordered this for my upcoming trip to Europe. I knew I’d be spending a lot of time on planes so I upgraded the mini-SD card for my phone and bought this headset so I can use my phone as an Mp3 player. I tested the headset out over the weekend, and overall I am very pleased.

    PROS:
The first thing I noticed is that it is very compact. It naturally wants to curl up very tightly, so it is easy to carry in a pocket or a small purse. There are also two sizes of ear buds so you can find the best fit. I wore mine for three hours at a time with no comfort issues at all. They are so unobstructive that when I wore my hair down you would not be able to tell that I had them on at all.

Overall the sound quality is good and I was actually able to hear some nuances of the music that I couldn’t hear on my speakers at home or in my car.

These charge very quickly via the included USB cable (I charged them in my car with the USB car adapter I have for my phone) and have an amazing battery life. I listened to them for six hours total (in two three hour sessions) after the initial charge and I had no signs of the battery flagging.

Synching was a breeze. I followed the instructions and had no issues. There was one time where I paused my music for five or ten minutes to run into the store and I think the headset went into standby mode or de-synched because when I hit play again the music would skip. I rectified this by going through the phone settings and disconnecting and reconnecting the headset.

    CONS:
I had to experiment a little to get the right earpiece to stop falling away from my ear slightly at an angle, which would make it hard to hear on that side. I never felt like it was falling off, just that it was coming away slightly.

Several times as I was testing these I felt that it would be nice if there was a soft cover on the ear buds, like I’ve had with others I’ve used. Not only would this probably rectify the fit issue I experienced (which was not a deal breaker by any means, just a minor annoyance) so that the ear bud would stay in one place within the ear, eliminating the somewhat pesky issue I had with hearing the right side as well as the left.

The headset has a built in microphone so you can take a call while using it. I had three phone calls come in during my testing period and with all three callers I could hardly hear the caller and they could not hear me well enough to carry on a conversation. I wound up putting them on hold, going through my phone settings, connecting my Bluetooth earpiece and then continuing the conversation. They work great for listening to music, not so great for taking calls.

Overall I’m very satisfied and I’m glad I’ll be able to listen to hours of my favorite music on my nonstop flight from Chicago to Paris.

Good: Nice long batter life. Can listen to music for 7 hours or more. Comfortable to wear. Stereo sound quality is nice.
Bad: I can listen to a phone conversation just fine. When I talk, the person I am talking to says it sounds like I am in a deep well, and each phrase they hear is preceeded with a “ping”. The construction is of medium quality. The ear piece does not seal to your ear to block out external noise.

For music, with only an occasional short phone call in a quiet location, they will work fine. For long phone calls, they are unacceptable. Plantronics Voyager makes a stereo bluetooth headset for ~$80 that is high quality in every way. If you have the money, buy Plantronics (which I have used for 1 1/2 years). I bought these wrap-arounds as a backup pair to keep in my travel bag — and that is all they will every be. So, I am not displeased, just not impressed.

Bad Fit and Not the greatest sound quality, August 29, 2010

This is my 1st set of blue tooth headphones and this is what I found.

    PRO’s:
-Nice back design. The self coiling is pretty cool. A little loose but for the most part pretty nice.
-Compact. Keeps from lugging anything huge and cumbersome around.
-Fully charged in 3hrs. Pretty quick.
    CON’s:
-Fit isn’t the greatest at all. I can rub my fingers together next to the headphones while playing at the highest level and hear them over the music. Not that their not loud or anything they just don’t fit right. I tried switching up the earpiece cores and had not luck getting a good fit. I even tried using earpiece core’s from other normal headsets and no dice.
-Sound quality is borderline poor. Some of that is due to the horrible fit. Not much bass at all and the frequency response wasn’t even on the box or in the instructions.

Overall: Nice concept, poor execution. Ill probably be returning these if I can. If not, to craigslist they go.
